It was my first time in Vietnam and I decided to go on a 3-day trip with my friend on a motorcycle from Ho Chi Minh to Dalat. Sinh was my guide, and he really impressed me with his professionalism, being an excellent guide in terms of knowledge, fun and safety throughout the whole trip. From day 1 till the end, it was a non-stop adventure; the kind one would never have on a normal tour. He brought me to many breathtaking sights and scenery which allowed me to be immersed in Vietnamese culture. I really learnt a lot from Sinh, and enjoyed the 3 days. He is a guide who ensures your well-being is taken care of, while instilling fun and laughter along the way. I will recommend this trip to those who want to have an adventure and yet feel safe riding on a motorbike. This has to be the best way to truly experience the ‘real’ Vietnam. Thank you Sinh for a wonderful 3 days!!

My wife and I had a fantastic, memorable 5 day trip with Dalat Easy Riders, not to be confused with other operators!

We started by travelling down to Cat Ten National Park where we stayed for a couple of nights while our drivers/guides returned to Dalat to attend the wedding of one of their colleagues. Our lead guide, Long, suggested that we coukd have chosen a different destination but we had heard good reports of Cat Ten so it was a shame we didn’t listen to him but enough of that. Anyway, Long & Tan duly arrived a couple of days later for us to continue our trip, however Long had forgotten his ignition key which posed a bit of an initial problem but one that he overcame – I’m still not sure how but he seemed to use another key that required a lot of tweaking.

Similar to other reviewers, we had the opportunity to see how the local people made their living through hard manual labour and it gave us a better appreciation of how fortunate we are to live in the West. We saw silk worm farms, coffee & tea plantations, rubber plantations and the associated latex producers, basket weavers, plywood producers, mushroom farms, fruit farms, minority villages, brick works, charcoal producers in addition to seeing some fantastic scenery in the Central Highlands.

The accommodation selected for us was of an average standard but perfectly adequate for our needs. Each Guesthouse was clean and welcoming and we had the same facilities we had enjoyed in 2 & 3 star Guesthouses.

Although we entered into the trip with a degree of trepidation having experienced motorbikes in Hanoi and other places in Vietnam we needn’t have worried. Both Long & Tan were extremely careful drivers and stopped every 45 minutes or so to enable us to stretch our creaking muscles – it’s along time since I road bikes and the years haven’t been kind to my joints.

The cost of trip was quite a lot and as we are travelling for 7 months we thought long and hard before committing but we are really glad we too the plunge. During the 5 days we were travelling with Long & Tan we only saw 2 other western tourists (before raching Saigon) who were doing a similar trip to us with another outfit which proved to us that you really do get off the tourist trail if you use ‘Easy Riders’.

All in all we highly recommend Dalat Easy Riders and can say that it is 1 of the highlights of our extended trip so far.

Beware of imitators – look for the blue jackets.

Magic Trip with Hiep and Tinh – I would go again without hesitation!

I spent three days with my friend Jessica, in the very safe hands of Hiep and Tinh and would recommend the trip without hesitation to anybody who wants to spend three days visiting the real countryside of Vietnam.
The landscape and people we met on the tour were very inspiring. We saw a range of interesting activities and places – a real variety of scenery. Coffee plantations, arable farming, animals, lakes, dams waterfalls and a favourite was meeting people from ethic minority communites. The Vietnamese wood carving workshop and bamboo factory was so interesting, along with the silk factory and pagodas.
We were a little hesitant before the trip as I had not been on a motorbike for sometime – however, we had such a good time with Hiep and Tinh. They are both so hospitable and full of jokes and stories which makes for a brilliant holiday. It is also reassuring to know that they have a lot of motorcycling experience, are careful drivers and insurance is also provided. They also support local charities to help the communities that we visited and have very good local knowledge. For further information contact Hiep on [email protected] or Tnh on [email protected]. I am sure you will have a fabulous adventure. I would have included photos but the first few times I wrote this, the computer kept crashing, but I have many great memories!
